Data Handling Policy

Last Updated: June 11, 2026

At FreeMetaTools.com, we prioritize user privacy. Unlike traditional web services that collect, log, and parse inputs for analytics or marketing, our platform is designed from the ground up to minimize data collection and protect your information.

1. Client-Side Processing (90% of Tools)

The vast majority of our tools—including mathematical calculators, unit converters, hash generators (MD5, SHA-256), Base64 encoders, and text formatters—**run entirely inside your web browser.**

  • No Server Transit: When you paste text, enter numbers, or generate hashes, the inputs are processed locally via client-side JavaScript.
  • Zero Transmission: Your input data never leaves your computer, and is never sent to our servers or any third-party APIs.
  • Immediate Clearance: Once you close the browser tab or hit the "Clear" button, the temporary memory holding your data is completely wiped.

2. Ephemeral Server-Side Processing

A small number of tools (such as PDF mergers, advanced image compressors, or docx converters) require server-side computing resources on our secure Python backend. For these tools, we enforce strict data handling rules:

  • Memory-Only / Temporary Files: Uploaded files are written to secure temporary storage on our server and are processed in isolated sandboxed environments.
  • Immediate Deletion: Files are scheduled for deletion immediately after the download link is generated. Any remaining files are permanently purged by an automated cron job every 60 minutes.
  • No Content Inspection: We do not index, search, view, or retain your files. Files are never shared with third-party networks or parsed for marketing databases.

3. Encryption in Transit

All communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted using standard **Secure Socket Layer (SSL) / Transport Layer Security (TLS)** protocols (HTTPS). This prevents third parties from intercepting, sniffing, or tampering with your files or inputs during upload and download phases.

4. No Databases, No User Accounts

We do not require registration, signups, or user profiles to access any of our 500+ utilities. We do not maintain user databases, nor do we track historical tool usage mapped to individual IPs or user identifiers.

5. Third-Party Integrations

We integrate standard services for traffic analytics (Google Analytics 4) and display ads (Google AdSense). These third-party platforms collect generic, non-personally identifiable browser metadata (such as device type, country, and page views) to help optimize performance.
